Basically we are a group of star wars fans who meet up and belt the living daylights out of each other with lightsabers lol,
We use foam lightsabers for full contact sword play, the foam makes for a safer and LESS painful experience, but of course one must accept prior to joining a game that one cannot guarantee that one wont be hurt when playing with these swords, despite the foam lessoning the chances you still can and most likely WILL get hurt if you choose to play.
We also use glowing lightsaber replicas with clear poly carbon blades that are lit by LEDs, these lightsabers are HARD and can handle quite a beating, they can however deliver quite a beating also, we generally aim for a more ornamental, flashy and theatrical style with these sabers as they can really hurt,
I can't stress enough that if you do not want to get hurt, DO NOT PLAY!
And on the flip side, you must be respectful of others and yes accidents will happen but people who are found to be too rough, and or are intentionally trying to hurt others will be asked to leave.
lightsaber duelling is a cinematic style of swordplay and is more dramatic and theatrical than practical, it is focused more on artistic representation of sword fighting than actual violent and harmful sword fighting.
it is great fun when done with mutual respect for each other devoid of ill intent and when the focus is really just on having some fun :)
along the way we can also explore the philosophies, practices and principles of true swordfighting as well, and how studying these philosophies, practices and principles can help you in day to day life.
